Murano is popular for glass arts making. From Venice, it took 15-20’ boat ride to go there. Beautiful island, more relaxing, learning more about glass making, walk along the main canal and check out art glass shops or enjoy a cup of coffee or wine and fantastic view. Definitely worth to visit when visiting Venice.
This place is beautiful! If you go, go by public transportation because it's cheaper and you can spend longer there. The glass shops are cheaper outside the glass places tourist companies take you, so don't be fooled. The island isn't too big and you might spend a hour there at most. Get a day pass on the public transportation and see all the islands!
An interesting place with a plethora of glassworks and merchants. The quality of the craftsmanship is excellent and if you are after a unique and special item, you will likely find it here – or time permitting, you could likely commission an item of outstanding beauty to suit your tastes. Worth visiting for the innovative use of glass ornaments alone.

Murano is historically famous for its glass manufacturing since centuries. Lots of boat trips are available from venice to visit this island. There is a demonstration for traditional ways of making tha various glass items, which is very interesting. A big exhibition cum shop of glass items is also there with some of the most beautiful glass works. But it is very expensive. Anyway, if you have some spare time after visiting St. Marks square then plan for this visit.
Great work of glass art here. The church n museum are well maintained. Must watch live glass blowing demo. Just look out for the timings. Scout properly before purchasing.
