Small museum, quiet as it's not has popular as the Nasjonalgalleriet next door. Most interesting exhibit was the one next to the gift shop focusing on more interactive displays with some history about the land around Oslo since the Ice Age. Other rooms had more generic Medieval/ Egyptian pieces. Lots of space devoted to the Americas and the Arctic populations. Most of the upstairs exhibits seemed available only in Norsk. If you have the Oslo Pass it's a nice place to unwind.

Very nice museum. Lots of things to see. With the same ticket you can visit the Viking Ship Museum within 48h, so it's a very good deal. They can store your bag for free during your visit.
Came with a the pass for the viking ship musuem so gave it a look in the morning.
Lots of rooms are closed because of renovations and had some modern art exhibitions at the top floor.
What it had in terms of Egyptian relics and arctic clothing was awesome but definitely not worth the full price of admission so I wouldn't recommend it if you are only going to this musuem.
I found the historic exhibits dealing with the Vikings and stave churches to be most interesting.

The ticket gives access to this museum as well as the Viking Museum, so not bad for the price. I enjoyed the exhibits, especially that linked to the history of the region's habitation and the different Inuit groups. Not an overwhelming exhibit and a pleasant few hours spent considering the peculiarities of culture and history.
