Must see while in Cuba, even if your aren't a guest of the hotel. My friend and I sat in the hotel gardens facing the sea while enjoying a coffee. Staff are super polite and attentive. We returned a few days later and paid 20CUC to spend a full day by the pool. Lunch and drinks were included in this price. The hostess taking care of us was lovely and we left her a big tip to say thank you. Well worth it!

I want to start off by saying that this hotel has so much history!! It was built in a great location, and it's surrounded by many vintage cars and taxis, most importantly; the people. I stayed here for two days. Upon arrival, you are greeted at the entrance and then you wait in line, which is tedious. They have one woman doing everything. One minute, she's checking you in, another minute she's exchanging money. They work very hard. The service was decent, they weren't rude. The standard room was horrible. Any rooms from 1to 5 are horrible.it smells like mildew, the walls have mildew and, the beds are uncomfortable and there's huge bugs. I didn't feel comfortable being in there for 5 minutes. We immediately asked for an upgrade, and we got one without hesitation .I'm upset I forget the woman who helped us because she was extremely helpful. And sweet. We went to the 6th floor, you see the difference immediately. This floor has its own reception, and the smell is a little better. The rooms are good for Cuba standards. You also eat breakfast on your floor, instead of having to go downstairs in another lobby. I would recommend no more then 2 nights here. Definitely take advantage of the tours and history here
