A gorgeous setting with a peaceful place to remember. Such a meaningful memorial with a focus on how each piece represents a fragment of the tragedy...and the recovery. If you have the opportunity to take a guided tour, do it! Mike was a fantastic tour guide who really knew his stuff; so many little details and information above and beyond a normal tour. We did a 90 minute guided tour, spent several hours at the museum, and still didn't see it all. Well worth the time and cost. A handy and efficient coat/bag/umbrella check is available.

Large open area with some seating to sit and remember what transpired there on 9/11. Tastefully done water fountains representing the foot prints of the north and south towers as well as a museum. A new subway station adjoins the site to provide easy access. The Freedom Tower built on the site where the smaller adjoining building was destroyed is very pretty.

A very moving memorial and museum that is architecturally, aesthetically, artistically, emotionally well put together! The integration of stories, personal accounts before, during and after the event, the recovery, the healing, the moving forwards as victims, survivors, as communities and as a nation who will not be defeated but will triumph and be stronger together through this catastrophic event and the opportunities for people to express their grief, their consolation, their hope is without rival. While NY is a city that has a proud rich history of people vying to building the tallest building, this memorial though not high in stature surpasses all other grandiose monuments because it gives voice to all who have been touched directly or indirectly by an enemy that is vile and evil, but proclaims clearly, we will not be defeated, we will arise, stronger, more compassionate and wiser than those who seek to crush us, we are the United States of America and in God we trust.

What an incredibly powerful and well done museum. Absolutely recommend visiting! You can spend as much or as little time as you want in the museum, you could easily spend a few hours or so. I will definitely visit the next time I'm in NYC as I know there was so much I missed due to my condensed schedule!

What a cool place to see. While I had never visited the original towers in person, seeing their footprint and the amazing waterfall installment there is incredibly humbling and definitely a must see if you're visiting NYC. The new tower looks incredible and is really tall in person. The grounds around the area are kept really nice and there's a museum if you care to learn more.
