Best ice cream ever. Only fresh and seasonal ingredients transformed by traditional techniques in the best ice cream experience I have ever had!

Let me start by noting that I am a gelato fanatic. During our vacation to Florence, my boyfriend and I have been upholding a strict regimen of two cones from two different gelaterias a day. This is by far the best. I got hazelnut, cream with sweet wine, and black cherry in a cone, and my boyfriend got a cup with melon and mint, plus we sampled pineapple. All were PHENOMENAL. You could taste the freshness in the ingredients. I know it’s not the prettiest cone I’ve had here in Florence, but that’s precisely why it’s one of the best: no preservatives and fresh ingredients mean gelato that melts fast. The service was also absolutely wonderful. When the first cone the server made for me began to drip uncontrollably, he immediately made me a brand new one, without me asking. He also let us sit and get the melting under control before paying so it wasn’t a huge mess. So good I just had to write my first online review. So good we will definitely be coming back tomorrow for seconds!

Beautifully flavored gelato made with incredibly fresh ingredients. Very high quality and not to be missed. The pine nut gelato tastes buttery, the yoghurt gelato is my favorite, and the strawberry tastes like fresh fruit. I think this may have ruined me for all other gelatos.

I kept hearing about amazing Florintine gelato and had been disappointed until trying Carapina. You can taste the quality and fresh ingredients of their gelato. They were the only gelato shop I found that had a pine nut gelato!! And their pineapple on a hot day was a godsend! It's outside the main tourist area, but worth the walk if you want one of the best in gelato in town.

I lived very close to the gelateria for 3 months and got gelato from this place quite often. I'll say this is my favorite gelato place in Florence. The taste for the gelato here is not too sweet and they sometimes have some flavors that other places don't have. Really love it!
