This location was simply a visual treasure. Set off from the rest of metropolis Hong Kong and free admission this place is a must visit for tourists and residents alike. Peaceful and tranquil. Gardens here are beautiful. The Buddhist temple is in pristine shape. So much to see and enjoy. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic! Great place for photography and wandering around, they have active monks on site. Two food establishments (one under the water fall, one in the big pagoda on the lake) and two shops (one for fairly expensive souvenirs ($4k usd for one item we saw) and a rock shop) and some small museum sections. Strongly recommend this gem!

Nan Lian Gardens is beautifully maintained. It's worth visiting any time, but best at dusk when the lights are coming out and there's often a nice breeze in the air. I think this is Hong Kong's best garden. Don't bring in food though. We didn't realize the first time and planned a picnic! There's a nice souvenir shop and tea house inside if you like.

Great escape from the noise of the city. The park is serene, with quiet ambient music, pagoda, pond with carps and bonsai style trees. However, there's a lot of prohibitive rules to keep in mind such as no UAV flying, no climbing on rocks, etc. Be sure to also check the neighboring Chi Lin Nunnery.

So peaceful here. Every corner of this garden is beautiful and I just can't get enough of it. Totally love this place!
