Berthillon is a French manufacturer and retailer of luxury ice cream and sorbet, with its primary store on the Île Saint-Louis in Paris, France. The company is owned and operated by the Chauvin family, descendants of the eponymous Monsieur Berthillon, who from 1928 operated a restaurant on the premises called "Le Bourgogne". The ice cream shop became famous in 1961 when a French restaurant guide Gault Millau wrote about "this astonishing ice cream shop hidden in a bistro on the Ile Saint-Louis." Raymond Berthillon died on 9 August 2014.

Worth the hype. The original location here has the biggest line. If you're just interested in getting the ice cream, the shops are all over the area and you can get it quicker elsewhere. But there's something about going to this flagship spot and (I can't believe I'm advocating for long lines) waiting, building the anticipation, for the ice cream. Creative flavors. I recommend getting a cone with at least two. The scoops are small, and you can try more that way. Good mix of ice cream and sorbet, but the ice cream takes center stage here.

Delicious ice cream. Probably the best I've ever had. I preferred the fruity flavours. Pricey but worth it. The portion is not large and they don't use filler. The ingredients are fresh and you can really taste it in the ice cream. The menu changes daily and they do run out of flavours. 6 euros to try 3 flavours. We went an hour before closing and had to wait about 15 minutes.

Berthillon, the famous ice cream shop, has a few location on the same street. The main one is sort of like a separated space with a sitting tea room (where you can still get all the ice cream you want) and then a walk-in ice cream spot right next door. They also have a few smaller kiosk type spots in the same street ..The ice cream served is just delicious ! ! delicious... The only problem is that it is always over populated..You have to wait almost 20 minutes or more to get in and have a seat !  For two scoops in a cup, you're paying over 6 euros, which is just expensive in comparison to other wonderful ice cream places there are in the city.!

Paid a visit to the tea room and tried ice cream. The cacao one was my favorite. Dark but smooth.

Very nice place with good coffee and deserts (pancakes were delicious). Good location near Pantheon and Latin quarter makes this cafe a good place to have a little rest.
