The French National Museum of Natural History, known in French as the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (abbreviation MNHN), is the national natural history museum of France and a grand établissement of higher education part of Sorbonne Universities. The main museum is located in Paris, France, on the left bank of the River Seine. It was founded in 1793 during the French Revolution, but was established earlier in 1635. As of 2017, the museum has 14 sites throughout France, with four in Paris, including the original location at the royal botanical garden, the Jardin des Plantes, which remains one of the seven departments of MNHN.

A really cool museum! The building itself also makes it a cool experience, it is cool to look down to the 'animal migration' on the first floor, although the open plan does exacerbate the sound of the groups of school children. There is a comprehensive room of extinct animals and there were lockers to store my huge backpack (I missed my bus and had a few hours to spare).

Great museum with a very large collection of stuffed animals. The modern interior of the building is also interesting. However, it is very unfortunate that most exhibits are poorly lit, and some rooms are practically completely in the dark, making it impossible to see the animals. The sound effects are sometimes too loud and annoying.

It's a crime that the several museums around this garden have no combined ticket. To see all of them, you need to shell out OVER €30!!! paying separately at each. The greenhouse and mineral display are small and underwhelming, and ENGLISH translations are LACKING throughout. The only one worth the price of admission is the paleontology/anatomy gallery. Just go there; it's amazing.

Most of the information aren't in English. It is annoying when you saw the nice stuffed animal but couldn't learn anything about them. The museum has a lot of foreign visitors so I found it surprising that the descriptions weren't in bilingual like other museums in Paris I visited.

This museum is located in one of the most beautiful parks of Paris. I'd recommend to bring your kids and spend a whole day. They will love the huge dinosaur skeletons.
