Elephanta caves island is well connected with gateway of India thorough ship. It has eloquent view. Basically was built around 1200 BC on the life of Lord Shiva. It has got its name Elephanta due to the gigantic idol of Elephant but when Portuguese came they demolished the idols and English did the same.
Now it is under UNESCO heritage list. Must visit you will enjoy the ship trip too.

Local vendors are charging anything. Please carry your own food and water. They don't accept any cards or money wallets. Boat ride is great 200rs for adult both ways and 125 for kids. Tickets are Available gateway of India next to entrance.
