What a wonderful place for amusement, fun and learning. If you a science scholar or teacher, you should visit this place definitely. All the main principals of science are explained by activity, history of the past is explored, dinosaurs section take you to the extinct world of dinosaurs. Large information about monuments of India and theorems of mathematics also explained with the help of activity. Space section and IT section gives detailed information about the same and New technology of computer world. Its better to go in groups of 25 or more, so that the cost of tickets would come down. Cafeteria is also there in the basement for the great taste of the food.
Excellent place for kids and for adults as well. This is the museum which every kids in Delhi/NCR would have gone or schools would have organized a trip to the same place. Easy to approach, its in the center of Delhi. However, parking may be a issue on weekends. The parking place is limited. Best would be reach this place by Metro. Your knowledge will surely increase after visiting this place. Kids will surely enjoy this place. There are lot of section pertaining to history, science, biology, ancient life, dinosaur age. etc etc.. Ticket is very reasonably priced. There is a cafeteria as well in the premises. However, the service is slow. The staff need to be trained to handle more crowd.
I've visited this place thrice and my experience was good, but one thing that bothers me is there are no updates. The showcasing is not good. It will give good surprises initially but its hard for it to maintain. The center is at very good place. The tickets have a very low cost. Its a very long trip inside the building to explore. The best one is underground dinosaurs.
Ultimate place to visit. But please remember, if you are planing to finish it in an hour or so, then you are wasting your time. It required whole day to finish. Your kids and you both will love it. If you have your kid with age group 8 years onward (however there are things for every age-group), go ahead and show them. Let them read the details and experience it. Entry fee is very nominal. If I can recall correctly it was about 25 rupees only. There are other paid and/or free shows organized by the centre every hour. You can get the information about it on the reception. You can buy separate tickets latter from the counter at the ground floor if you like it. For free shows, you don't need to buy any ticket. Any one can go and enjoy those free shows related to literature, science etc.
Nice place to visit for children as well as adults there are 3-4 floors you will find ancient historical things and to watch and experience different scientific real life action that involves rules of science. Mirror show is also there on second floor. There is a space center things like missiles and other astronomical stuff and a historical place which shows how INDIA before independence look like and what type of things are used at that time such as typewriter, radio, post office and a biological center where many of the body parts are shown with interesting games and activity you will enjoy it and lot more is there. It also has a south Indian canteen with tasty south Indian dishes and lots of eatables for kids.
